It’s too quiet in here, I say
as i open my phone and hit play
Laughter, laughter assaults my senses
I smile my first at the joyous pretenses
The sky soon blushes and rises
I shudder and wake as the need arises
The alarm blares on, and I pause the tape
Open my eyes and can’t help but gape
Bound to the silence of a grim new day
It’s too quiet in here, I say
